the story so far..

issy is walking through fields, waiting for someone and being captured. all of these clips are placed randomly as to show that her thoughts are mixed up and it's almost as if her life is flashing before her eyes.
the last two clips of the flashbacks are almost as if it's showing that she's waking up as it gets faster, and it's quite distorted. the beginning clips are in the perspective of the person filming her, e.g, the man who kidnaps her.
she then wakes up after the distorted clips, and is shown in a room, the audience should see that she is being filmed by a CCTV camera which gives the feeling of knowing she's being watched by someone. the time in the clips jump, to show that time is going on and she's still in the same place. when the title pops up, (4am), it goes back to her being in the room, but she notices the camera and goes to see if it is actually there, a door slams, and she looks shocked and fears for her life as it is 4am.. which is why we called it that. she then shouts, and it cuts out to CIA films, which is the name of our production company.
we then got told to add more to it, so we went out and filmed a scene with becky and myself, to show that she is the next victim. we stuck to the conventions as becky is a brunette, and the brunette usually survives, whereas issy is a blonde and the blonde dies first. we feel that this scene establishes the fact that becky is the next victim, as we talk about her moving away to where we filmed issy walking in the fields.

we're generally happy with our storyline, though we think it may have been better if we had had the recently filmed scene at the beginning of the film instead of the end, but we're happy with how it's turned out.

so.. i don't get it. whys she doing this? whys she doing that?

this is the response, and questions, we've been getting quite a lot recently.
so the people that have watched it, don't really get it.

well done, thats the point!

it's the beginning of a film, we can't let you know EVERYTHING in the first two minutes otherwise there is no point in watching the film.
the flashbacks that start the film are there so people start to ask questions, for example, 'why is she there?'.

we put in our first brief that we wanted our audience to establish enigma codes. these questions that they're starting to ask are what we wanted to acheive because it means they're interested.

though what we have acheived is completely different to how myself and the group imagined it to be, we're all very proud of the work that we've put in.

i've been secretly falling apart..

for our film, we've used the 'aqualung' song 'strange and beautiful'. we think this song fits the creepiness of the film well, and though we know it is a copyrited song, we are desperate to use it.
the lyrics fit it so well, and it's as if it's being spoken in the voice of the man who the film is based around.

so, we do not own this song, or any rights to it.

crisis!

so, whilst editing today, our computer decided it was going to be annoying and malfunction, meaning we barely got any work done today, and the stuff we did do, we're not entirely sure if it saved.
while the computer is being sorted, i decided to make use of my time and edit my blog.

we've recently spent a lot of time editing, using adobe premiere pro to do so. it's an extremely infuriating experience, but we're getting through it and getting it done. our editing skills aren't the best, but we're generally really proud of what we have acheived so far.

with only a week til deadline, it's getting quite hectic. the fear of falling behind somewhat takes over, and it's difficult to concentrate, the fact our computer died during the editing process doesn't make it any less stressful, but it does give us some time to focus on our blog which we've been neglecting since starting editing. we don't have all that much more to do, we have to edit a few of the titles and make the transitions between them smoother and perfectly timed, we have to change the levels of the music as we had to import it again, we also have to import the title of the film as the photoshop TIFF file didn't work first time, though the production TIFF file worked, it wasn't perfect but it looked good and we kept it, we also need to get the video transitions smoother so it looks more like a film.
though that seems like we have a lot to do in a week, i feel like we will be able to acheive it if we put all our effort into doing so.

alert: deadline approaching, deadline approaching!

as the deadline seems to get closer and closer, the panic starts to set in. we're not really near finished, well we were, until we got told to change this that and the other, so in this lesson (27th april 2010), myself and abbie changed the titles, and considered changing the music, as it apparently sounds as though it's a film trailer. this is something we were told quite recently, so it's frustrating to have to change it so near the deadline. we had a few people watch our opening, and they really liked it, so we're weary about whether to change it too much.
today we changed the timing and positioning of our titles, along with their colour and font, our teacher didn't feel as though the titles fitted with the genre originally, i'm not sure if they do now, but we've tried our best to stick to the conventions.
we looked at changing the music to our opening, but myself, abbie and issy feel that the song fits the genre and the opening to our film. so we're a bit funny about wanting to change it.
(obviously as it is 'strange and beautiful' by aqualung, we own no rights to it and do not take any credit.)
