update:

as i haven't updated my blog in a while, i thought now would be the time.

unfortunately, it seemed that the footage we had filmed from the time before wouldn't edit into what we had already filmed, i wasn't in on the lesson that we found out, but abbie and issy told me when i got in later in the day. so we decided that we would film again in the next lesson we had and due to the fact the lighting was different in almost every shot we decided to just film the next part just all in one part and then just cut it up in the editing software.

also, since then we have filmed the bits we needed to refilm and i think it went quite well. we haven't been able to look at it yet though which is slightly annoying. we've also done the title to our film but we've used '04:00' instead of 4am, as 4am looks really odd in the fonts that are available to use!

in the next lesson we have, hopefully we'll be able to try and edit some more of the film together and we seem to be getting behind which isn't good!

filming; round 3.

we filmed this time in the small interview room in the cabot eye, unfortunately, it wasn't dark like we wanted it to be, but that was no fault of our own as the lights are automatic.

editing;

i wasn't in for the lesson when abbie and issy edited, but when i came back the day after, i was really impressed with what they had acheived. the standard of the editing for people who haven't really done it before was really good and i was personally, very pleased with the outcome.
the first time we edited, we put together a few things and the computer crashed so we lost what we had done in that lesson. luckily, we remembered to save the rest of the time!

filming; round 2.

for this lesson, we went outside (down to magpie bottom nature reserve) to film the flashbacks for our film opening. we spent a lot of time out here getting the right shots, and laughing at the outtakes that occured. we managed to film the entire flashback section in just over two hours which was incredible considering the amount we had to cover!

to begin with, we filmed walking down the hill in magpie bottom that is just outside college, we then filmed through the trees, up a hill, into more trees - and screaming, and walking round a girl making the view look distorted.

the filming we did was fun, it also brought us a lot further in the project - which was good! it took us a long time to film, but it ended up really good and there are some things in it that we're really impressed with.

i am quite happy with the progress we made during this lesson as it enabled us to actually start on creating our film opening.

beyond wonderland

so, we've decided that 'beyond wonderland is the best font we could find, and we're all very happy with out decision.
the only thing we need to find out now is whether we're going to use a digital clock time, or a '4am' format.

we will try and see what the majority of our target audience think.

fonts we're thinking of using

we've experimented with different versions of the title, like for instance, it as a digital clock time.

we've been looking for fonts that we find creepy and we think would suit our film. we've found these two so far, but we're still looking. we need to find a font that will catch the eye of our target audience and make them want to watch the film.

BRAINWAVE!

as i have a habit of waking up at 4am every morning, i was talking to issy about how annoying it is. i then realised that this could be put into our film. i then spoke to issy about these ideas, and she was like 'you genius!'.
from my annoyances, we've come up with a film title and a possible storyline.

film title;
4am.

storyline;
a girl is captured randomly, kept in a small room, and every morning at 4am (see! epic title!) the person who captured her will come into the little room and torture her in some form. the forms of torture will get worse and worse until eventually she is as unstable as he is. to end the film, the girl who has become somewhat crazy, will know that at this certain time, he will come for her and at this final time, she has had enough and attacks him. she leaves him for dead and manages to escape, but being in this environment has messed her up so much she runs to find someone to do exactly the same to. she takes this person back to the same house, and closes the door while the camera moves into her looking psychotically. the film will end with a horrific scream, and a blood spattering on the window and you won't know who's blood it is!

location and group.

locations we'll use;
magpie bottom (flashbacks)
interview rooms in cabot eye (the room in which she's captured)

group members and our jobs;
issy - actress
abbie - camera person
charley - director

also, we will have to find a few musical pieces so we can see which ones work with the filming we have done.

we will have to spend a lot of time editing the footage we have put together to make it the best it can be, so the quicker we get our filming done, the more time we have to edit and make it perfect.

starting our filming.

in this lesson, we started our filming. though we didn't get much filming done, it was good to have practice. we came across a few difficulties, for instance, the noise from the other students was hard to get around as we were filming where the noise was and the fact the lights are automatic and can't be turned off.
we started to go through our storyboard, and film the shots we felt we could film in this space. unfortunately, due to the lights being automatic, there is no way we can get the effect that we had originally wanted.
